Tasty food at a great price (Nandos)

It only takes you one visit to get hooked on the Portuguese restaurant Nandos. We visited them for the first time last year and always look forward to returning. We have not eaten at the same Nandos twice and it is nice to see how the branches differ. The décor is so unique but the tables and format stay the same.

On our first visit I was surprised to say the least! It had a great atmosphere with quite loud music playing in the background and lots of people chatting and laughing. I was taken aback that it is kind of self service. You are taken to your table and given menus but you go up and order your own meals at the counter. When your meal is ready the staff bring it over to your table. You are able to choose your own sauces and take them back to your table to try out. The soft drinks are also free refills that you help yourself to which is a great idea!

The menu is extensive and includes dishes to suit all tastes include vegetarian. I find it hard to choose between their delicious starters so we usually end up having three of them - the mixed olives, spicy nuts and the humous with warm pitta pieces which is enough to fill you up on its own when sharing! I usually choose the double chicken breast burger side 1 side of either chips or their special rice but they also do ¼ and half chickens, wraps and salads too.

On our last visit we stumbled across their homemade custard and coconut tarts - they are amazing! They are served warm and are a great addition to your cup of coffee. We even bought a couple extra to take away and they were given to us in cute little take-away boxes!

Nandos is also available to take-away - just call them with your order and go and pick it up. They do not offer home delivery at the moment but maybe they will offer this as a service in the future.

The prices are cheap and I certainly rate it well for a meal out with friends and family.

Summary: Somewhere that is at the top of our list everytime!
