Advantages: MMMMMMM sauces

Disadvantages: Understaffed

I haven't been to Nando's in a few years so when I recently went I had memories of large portions of chicken, great sauces, and fantastic sides. Either Nando's has had major budget cuts of late or my memories of large portions were false.

The Nando's that I visited in Bristol Park Street was understaffed and had too few tables. We had to wait 25 mins on a sunday night for a table for 6. When we did come to order the staff were very friendly and helpful (despite the manager looking about 19 years old).

We each ordered 1/4 chicken with 2 sides. This cost £6.10 each. A bottomless soft drink is £1.95 which is quite cheap if you drink loads and you never feel like you have wasted money. The sprite and fanta were very watered down but the coke was ok.

The food arrived and the portion was not as large as I had expected. It would definitely have been worth the extra £2 to get a 1/2 chicken. The side of coleslaw was very tasty but the pot was tiny so it was about 3 forkfulls. The chips were great and they were really nice when dipped in all the sauces that you can pick up from the drinks area for free.

To sum up, the food tastes great but there isn't really enough for what you pay. Nando's have tried to mix fast food with restaurant dining but I think that they have picked up some of the worst factors of both. I will definitely go back soon but I will order more food so I don't feel hungry at the end of the night.

(also a sneaky tip: if you are feeling cheap, ask for tap water, they give you the same glass as for the bottomless soft drink. Then just fill that glass up with as much coke/lemonade etc as you like from the dispenser.)

Summary: Expect to pay alot if you want to feel full
