Advantages: Delicious, Inexpensive , Fast service

Disadvantages: Can be noisy, Basic surroundings, Virtually self service

Nandos is absolutely peri-fect!! (you'll understand if you've been there). If you love flavoured chicken and don't mind getting messy, then you'll love nandos.

The restaurant is basically self service. You are seen to a table, browse the menu and then make your way up to the cash desk to place your order. You help yourself to Bottomless drinks such as Coke and Fanta and grab your cutlery (although using fingers is the order of the day), plates, napkins - you'll need them - and sauces (ketchup, garlic, medium or hot).

On the menu there are virtually no starters 'cept nuts. For the main there is a selection of flame grilled chicken in the form of individual dishes or ones where you can share and also a small selection of chicken burgers and wings, etc. Personally I think it is much better sharing a "platter" usually a flame grilled whole chicken - that is the whole point of this restaurant, really. To go with your meal you can choose old style chips, spicy chips or spicy rice. There are also side salads. If going for flame grilled chicken, you choose what type of marinade you want the chicken cooked in - lemon & herb, medium, hot or extra hot. You can taste these marinades at the cash desk as you place your order. The chicken can be seen roasting on a spit before you!

The meal is brought over to your table (if a shared platter for 2, the chicken is nicely presented in 4 pieces) and you basically tuck in!! The atomosphere is relaxed and there is portugese style music in the background to get you in the mood! On some nights you even have the opportunity to partake in portugese dancing lessons! The decor is quite basic with wooden tables and chairs.

The food is always hot, tasty and fresh. It is great for groups of young people and students and couples alike, and often promotions are on. The desserts are basic, such as bottomless low fat frozen yogurt, which is quite nice, but I am p
ersonally always too full to have a dessert!

I have always found the service fast, friendly and the atomosphere informal. An extra bonus is that the bill is cheap - a meal for 2 which comprises a whole chicken, chips with bottomless drinks and a side order of bread rolls (which are always really fresh) only costs about £15.

I would choose Nandos over Pizza Hut any day!
