JUST TO LET YOU KNOW.. MOST CHINATOWN RESTAURANTS USE HEAPS OF A SUBSTANCE CALLED MSG WHICH IS PROVEN TO BE DETRIMENTRAL TO HEALTH.. SO BETTER DON'T GO TOO OFTEN OR BETTER NOT AT ALL.. I AM VERY SUSPICIOUS THAT MY HEALTH DETERIORATED BECAUSE OF MY FREQUENT VISITS THERE..

New Fook Lam Moon is a medium-sized restaurant in the heart of Chinatown.

ATMOSPHERE:

I like the atmosphere in this restaurant. Due to its fairly small size its quite personal and its not too packed. They played popular asian pop music in the background. Unfortunately smoking is allowed.

TOILETS:

Toilets are good, not smelly or dirty, even though some parts are a bit rusty and old.

QUALITY OF FOOD:

We ordered "noodle casserole with prawns in soup" (7.80), pineapple juice (1.50), jasmin tea (0.50), "beancurd in spicy sauce and minced meat" (5.80). The quality of the drinks and food was very good. The quantity of pineapple juice was a little bit meagre though. There are many asian people eating there, so it should be quite good. After we had finished they gave us free orange slices, which were quite good too.

PRICE:

The is the only bad part of this restaurant, cause its quite pricey. Together with the service charge (10%) its just too much to go there every day for lunch when you work. The have a minimum charge of 6 pound between 6pm-11.30pm per head. They offer free soup on midday.

SERVICE/STAFF:

They were friendly and the food was served swiftly.

So I really like that restaurant but its too expensive, but suitable for a romantic date for example or if you have too much money.
