Old Orleans

Located on George Street, Old Orleans has a 'Deep South' theme, reflected in the slightly overdone decor (mardi gras/ old banjos) and the menu. The food is slightly overpriced, but portions are large and there is a good selection of tasty American favourites such as fajitas, jambalaya, burgers and spare ribs. I would particularly recommend the alligator steak, if only to tell your friends that you have eaten it! Vegetarian options are slightly lacking however, as the focus seems to be on the meat. Only for those with bottomless wallets! The bar and restaurant are both very over priced, with a very small archers and lemonade costing around £3 and cocktails around £5 for little more than a glass of ice! The food is of average quality with burgers costing around £7, but the meals are large. There are very few vegetarian alternatives and I am told they are not nice. Also, you have to watch your bill as the waiting staff often add 10% to the bill even though you are not told they will on the menu. They will also still imply that you are expected to leave a tip.
