Advantages: Affordable, Great food, Lovely place for all occasions
Disadvantages: None
I love Paco's - simple as that! The general theme of the menu is Mexican with a selection of meat and vegetarian tacos and fahitas and things like that. but there are more 'exotic' items such as lasagne and pizza but one of the reasons why I like Paco's so much is becasue of the more obscure things on the menu. Last time I went, I had Spicey Tai Chicken and the Blackened Sea Bass is delicious. And of course, this huge selection on the menu is reflected in the price which ranges from about £4 to £12 with the majority of meals including the Sea Bass costing about £7-8. A bottle of house wine costs about £8 and soft drinks are about £1 - the usual restaurant prices really. The customers generally include families, couples of all ages and groups/parties. It'sgreat for all occassions - I've been for friends birthdays before a night out clubbing, romantic meals with boyfriend amnd just quiet meals out with family and friends. But the best things are the puddings. My absolute favourite is Orea cookie Bash! It's a really rich chocolatey cheesecake made with an Oreo Cookie base covered with loads of thick chocolate sauce and a choice of ice cream or cream. And the slice is enormous! I hate these restaurants that charge £4 for 4 Choux Eclaires but Paco's puddings are all about £3 and enormous so easilly shared or not, if your a chocolaholic like me! The restaurant itself is bizarre - but in a good way! The walls are covered with strange nicnacs and pictures and there is a toy train that whirls around it's overhead track in the back section of the restaurant. Overall it's great - the staff are friendly and efficient, the restaurant is clean and the food is brilliant and affordable. And I love it!! PS - make sure you try Oreo Cookie Bash!

- 25/08/01 A great "potted" opinion - well done. A quick run through the grammar checking wouldn't hurt but apart from that... I will try and remember to visit next time I'm in Stirling. Don't laugh! My wife's aunt lives in Alloa so there's every chance... Thanks, TT. |
