Walking into the restaurant i was a little put off by the annoying revolving doors, but to be honest that's being as pedantic as possible, because there's not much else to criticise here. The service was good and prompt, all the waiters and waitresses being most polite. Plus the manager was strutting around like a real matador which was quite entertaining. He was obviously proud of his restaurant. Being an Italian restaurant the menu was typically centred around pizza, pasta and risotto, which was just the mood i was in. Piccolino's is an Italian restaurant in Heddon Street, just off Regent Street in London. From the website, it appears it is a chain but since I have only eaten in the Heddon Street branch, my review is confined to that one. Heddon street is full of restaurants but Piccolino's is the only Italian. It has a large and airy dining area, full of light and a real delight to sit in. I visited at lunch time and it was not too busy but not deserted either. Deserted restaurants make me suspicious but this one had just the right ambience at lunch time for an unhurried lunch break catching up with friends.
