This opinion is about the chain of restaurants across the country called Pierre Victoire. This French restaraunt offer an evening meal as well as a super lunch time deal, which is what I wish to review here. I have long since been a fan of this good quality restaurant, in the main because of the fact that they serve very good quality food at an equally impressive price. I have been going to this restaurant for a number of years (admittedley only the Nottingham one on Milton Street). However, I have never been dissapointed. They offer a two course or three course meal at lunch time (the prices being £6.90 and £7.90 respectively). There is a reasonable amount of choice. My particular interest is in the vegetarian options and I have not been let down. For example, as a starter, they have such choices as poached pear, leek and potato soup or melon. For the main, there are baked mushrooms or goats cheese tarts. The menu changes regularly and so you cannot rely on having anything in particular. For those that are meat eaters, I feel there is also a range of good quality dishes. For example, on my last visit my mum had Pork which was beautifully served, I also noticed there being chicken dishes, fish and a croque monsiuer. For desert you can pick from cheesecake, ice cream of tirramisu. There are usually about 5-6 options for each course. The other great thing about this restaurant is the extras. You get a whole basket of lovely fresh bread, as well as the choice of vegetables or salad with your meal, which are always beautifully coooked. The staff (who are generally French) are welcoming and hospitable. The decor is simple with wooden tables and plain walls with the odd picture, but this creates a pleasant atmosphere with which to enjoy tasty food. The speed at which the food is bought out to you is reasonably fast. However, it is not the sort of place you can visit in your lunch hour as if you opt for the 3 course meal, this may
take some time. Generally though, I would say a fantastic restauarnt at a very good price.
