Advantages: Fabulous food - lovely staff and surroundings

Disadvantages: May be a little pricey to eat there everyday, if your watching the pennies.

If you are going to Cornwall this Summer and end up in Fowey, locally known as "Foy", then i cant recommend Pinky Murphys enough.
Just slightly off the main drag, but not too far to make the effort even on a hot day! Just round the corner from the Post Office.
"Open 7 days a week all year round. Mon. to Sat. 9:00ish to 5:00ish and Sun. 9:30ish to 4:00 ish, so why not chill out outside with a fresh smoothie in the summer or blag one of the sofas and get cosy with a Pinky's FatBoy hot chocolate in the winter."
When they say "ish" they do mean it, so dont arrive on the dot and expect it to be open - but maybe it is a little more strict these days.
Why do i love this place so much? And always make the effort to go back.
Well take a look at the website first http://www.pinkymurphys.com to get a feel of the place, bright, quirky and fun.
Downstairs always seems a little more formal to me, although i use the word loosely. The first time i went there for lunch they were playing Silent Laurel and Hardy films on the large TV screen on the wall, and the place was full.
Upstairs, my favourite place has the feeling of a childhood hideaway, although looking at it recently it has had a "makeover", there are tons of books, games, puzzles, newspapers and there used to be an old, but very welcome free computer for customers to use. Elvis playing in the background, and something different and interesting in every corner.
"So, what about the food - we are starving!" You might ask .
Well you wont be disappointed, all fresh and most home-made, soup, quiche and cakes are my favourite, and you get the feeling you could sit there all day if you wanted to.
Mismatched tableware, and brightly coloured plastic picnic ware for the children just add to its quirkiness.
Dont forget " gone fishing" outside enjoying the sun on the way upstairs, there is a man who has his priorities right.
The best thing of all - im going back next week!

Summary: If you only go to Fowey once - Dont miss your chance to go to Pinky Murphys.
