A lovely Pizza Express in Stratford upon Avon

I really love going new places; recently I took another trip to Stratford upon Avon. If anyone is close I fully recommend a trip! One of the places me and friends like to eat is Pizza Express albeit on the pricey side but certainly great tasting food.

      My Findings:

One thing I like about this place is the layout, it is all flat and everything is pretty much easy access. The last time me and my friends went was Sunday 28th July 2013. We were greeted at the door and asked if we would like to be seated indoors or outdoors. Being as the sun was shining we opted to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather.

We were walked to our table and given a menu each to browse. I had only ever eaten inside before now; outside was small but yet rather sweet. You had some drooping bushes along the one side and the opposite side was the large glass opening that leads back indoors to the restaurant. The flooring outside was kind of like crazy paving all in all a rather sweet little courtyard.

The waiter left us for around five minutes before returning and asking if we would like drinks. We gave our drink order to which arrived promptly, then we were asked if we was ready to order. So around ten minutes of being sat we had our drinks and food order was taken - great service. Glasses were sparking clean and so was the cutlery.

For me this restaurant has very good facilities and in this day an age most places should - Baby changing which is something I haven't needed to use but is clean and well maintained. Disabled access with its wider doors and opened planed spacing and there is also a disabled toilet, (I don't know how true it is but I'm told the word 'disabled' is soon to be replaced with the word 'accessible'.

Outside dining which was great on our sunny day and you have a take away option if needed. The toilets smelt clean and looked clean, well certainly the ladies did I can't comment on the mens!

The seating is comfortable which is certainly what you need when chilling out for a meal. Inside you have booths and tables, outside you just have tables and chairs but the chairs have a larger back. Which I found rather comfy, my only thing to pick at is that I would have like to have seen a table cloth on the tables outside. But still the tables were all very clean so not too much of a concern.

Our food took around twenty minutes to arrive which is pretty much standard, like always it was presented wonderfully. To share we have dough balls which came with garlic and herb butter and polenta chips. The polenta chips you two options vegetarian or none. Being I'm the veggie of the group we had the vegetarian option so I could share too.

My main I opted for there Leggera range which is a ring of pizza and salad in the middle. It is their 'healthy' option. Mine was the Pomodoro Pesto Leggera - 'Light mozzarella, marinated santos tomatoes, fresh basil, pesto and garlic oil' From Pizza Express this is one of my favorite dishes, a nice thin base on the healthier side than an average pizza.

The taste was just sensational, the tomatoes were juicy, just the right amount of garlic oil. All tasting very fresh, even the salad was dressed to perfection! The waiter came back to us and asked if everything was ok with our order and if there was anything else we wanted.

For me I always look at waiter's hands (habit that I can't help) he was very cleanly presented and seemed genuinely happy. This always makes a difference, giving me a good experience of the place it basically makes you happy to recommend and go back again.

Sadly on this occasion we didn't have time for dessert as the time was almost up on the car parking ticket. But I normally go for the Chocolate Fudge Cake or something they have started doing recently is Chocolate Brownie which comes with a cup of coffee.

For the three of us to eat the bill came to £42.00 which for three people isn't that bad. However if you know you maybe going to Pizza Express you can normally find discount vouchers online for you to take with you or if you have the app Voucher Cloud on your phone. You can normally get 10 to 20 percent off your bill.

A good thing about Pizza Express is that the vegetarian options are decent and they also now have some dishes that are gluten free.

      Overall:

A place I will use again, the past couple of times I have been it has been a pleasant experience. The staff and warm and welcoming each time. Set out well and very clean, great tasting food with efficient service and a place I fully recommend.

Five out of five stars from me.

      Thank you for reading.
