not the best but cheap and chearful! (Pizza Express)

I got a voucher for Pizza Express so me and my boyfriend went two weeks ago. The voucher entitled you to a starter, main meal and a drink (inc beer and wine) for £10.

We got there just after 6pm, and it was already packed. We got a table straight away, but in minutes people were queuing for a table. The place was really busy, and full of a mixture of people, couples, families, kids, teens etc.

We weren't offered a drink for quite a while, and eventually had to ask for a drink which wasn't very good.

The selection on the menu for us, as we had the voucher, was limited. For starter it was garlic bread or dough balls. We both got the dough balls. They came out very quickly, within 5 minutes, which was very good.

For mains we had a choice of about 4 pizzas and 2 pastas. I got the pizza with spinach, goats cheese and caramalised onions. This pizza was delicious, my boyfriend helped me eat it as it was so good! He got the lasange which he said was ok, not the best but he ate it all. Both our mains also came out quickly, within minutes of our starters being taken away.

I then decided I wanted a desert. We waited for about 10-15 minutes, until we eventually got someones attention and asked for desert menu. It then came, we chose, and waited another 15 minutes, by which point my boyfriend had become extremely impaitient with them and so we paid and left.

Over all the food was good, the kitchen seemed quite efficient but the waiting staff were slow. The atmosphere was busy but it wasn't a relaxing meal, kind of straight it - straight out sort of thing. Our whole experience lasted 30-45 minutes. We had left before 7pm, and arrived around 6.10-6.15pm.

But for the price we paid, its just cheap and chearful! Came to £20 altogether. So I wasnt in a rush to complain - you get what you pay for!

Summary: yeah it ok - but would rather pay more and get good quality!
