Advantages: Great tasting food, good service

Disadvantages: Prices a bit high especially in current economic climate

From what I've read from other reviewers there is a lot of mixed opinion as to the quality of the pizza, and I think this varies from branch to branch.
So I'll say first and foremost I've not experienced any problems in these branches I've visited:
Pizza Express Stourbridge, High Street
Pizza Express Leicester, King Street
Pizza Express Birmingham, Bull Ring

I've absolutely loved the pizza from here everytime I've visited, I always try to order a different one everytime I come and have yet to be dissapointed with any of the flavours. The pizza itself is thin and light but still very filling, I find 1 is easily enough to satisfy my hunger with room for 1 side sometimes as well. Also it's not stodgy or greasy like most pizza purveyors, you can easily see and taste the difference between some of it's competitors like Pizza Hut for example.

On visiting Pizza Express service has always been good, not amazing but average for what you'd expect of a chain restaurant. I've never had to wait too long, even when it has been very busy. Also the decor of each Pizza Express has always been nice - a little bit more upmarket looking than Pizza Hut or a Wetherspoons, but not high class chic, as is reflected in the price on the food.

This is my only quibble - the pizzas are quite expensive which is the usually reason that puts me off coming here more. The pizza is on average about £8-£10 each, and then drinks or starters on top mean you're looking at £15-£20 per head each time you go, making it only for special occasions for someone with a budget like me. I would advise though to look online for special offers such as the Orange Wednesdays 2 for 1 on main meals. It will save you quite a lot and can make the food as cheap as it's competitors but with a lot better quality food.

I would also love if Pizza Express did deliveries. I think they could make quite a lot of money cashing in on this niche market - delivering gourmet pizzas. It would make a nice change from only being able to get boring grease covered pizzas to takeaway from the likes of Dominos and Pizza Hut, so I hope this is a route Pizza Express explore in the future.

Summary: You get what you pay for
