I've always ordered from the Hackney branch, and the service over the phone and in person was great. Delivery in 20-30 minutes, friendly at the branch, polite on the phone, free delivery as promised, and took my money after delivery. Unfortunately, the Stoke Newington branch was the complete opposite...

Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to try the other branch the website suggested-Stoke Newington...Big mistake. Below is a copy of the email I just sent their head office:

"I just placed an order and the delivery man says I am too far away. The website says I am within 1-2 miles, but he says I am three miles away. Your website says the order can be cancelled within 30 minutes (he called within five minutes of me ordering), but he says he can't refund it. He said only the Head Office can refund it. He said he can deliver if he's paid £3, but the email says delivery is free.

Please give me a full refund. He kept talking about having too many orders, so I believe that is the real reason. As a happy customer for many years, I am very disappointed in being pushed to pay for something I was told was free. Even worse, the money left my account immediately. That's never happened before. Knowing they had too many orders, and knowing they saw my address beforehand, I feel as though I've been scammed to get extra money from deliveries.

The man called from (phone no.) at 15:21. He sounded like he was outside. I called him back for a refund (I was advised to by the Hackney branch, who the man told me to transfer the order to). That's when he said he'd deliver for a £3 charge, and started sounding aggressive, cutting me off when I spoke. The man was from the Stoke Newington branch."

I have emailed the head office and will update this page if I don't get a full refund ASAP.
