Advantages: its yummy!

Disadvantages: calories, salt content, tight trousers!!!

I do have a will to eat healthy and nutritious food, but the one thing I cant resist is a pizza from Pizza Hut. They are just soooo much better than an oven cooked pizza! BUT, they do have their bad points.

1 - If you look at the nutritional values of the pizzas on the Pizza Hut website, that might be enough to put you off eating it. Of a medium pizza, one slice packs in between 250 -350 calories, depending on your toppings. Now, if you are like me and have, say, three slices (half a medium) or even four (half a large pizza) you are chomping through a lot of calories!! And don't even get me started on the fact that we have the yummy garlic bread with cheese for starters, and a coke, and sometimes the delicious Ice Cream Factory for dessert, the calories are already way over your recommended DAILY amount in that one meal!!! So your diet is going to take a hit if you eat here. Also the pizzas are very salty, for the rest of the evening I am left gasping for water.

The other down side is the price. Although they are better than oven cooked pizzas, a meal for me and my husband there will cost around £16. Now given that we only spend around £20 a week on food, that kind of throws into perspective how expensive it is. You can go to Tescos and buy a pizza and garlic bread slices or baguette for under a fiver. And in these times I'm all for saving the pennies. So although they are nice pizzas, is it really worth the price.

We have come to a compromise between diet and price - if we want a pizza I make the base in the breadmaker, and use passata with a bit of basil in it and some grated cheese. No its not as good as pizza hut, but its less greasy and there's less salt and additives and best of all, it's a LOT cheaper!!!

Summary: ok for an occasional treat.

sorry to be picky but apart from the fact that you mention that there are lots of calories in their pizzas, this isnt really going to help anybody who hasnt been to pizza hut before.
