Advantages: Friendly staff, yum food, excellent choice, good value for money
Disadvantages: Not all branches have as friendly staff
Pizza Hut have really upped their game with regards to the credit crunch and people's focus on eating more healthily.
It is great to time your visit to get the most value. I often visit on a lunchtime during the week where you can access the buffet (Pizza, pasta and an amazing selection of salad for only around £6.50.) They have also recently started a happy hour, between 3-6pm weekdays you can get Pizza or Pasta, with Garlic Bread or salad, and a drink for only £4.
**My visit**
I visited pizza hut at the MetroCentre retail park, Gateshead with 3 of my student friends around teatime one weekend. We were waiting for a few minutes at the door without being greeted by a staff member and I started to worry that the service was going to be bad. I was wrong. A friendly young blonde lady showed us to our table.
After reading the menu we decided to opt for one of the meal deals, the one named "A few". For this we got a sharing plate for starter, where we could choose 3 starters to have a little bit of. We chose garlic bread, chicken wings with dip and potato wedges. For mains we could have one large pizza of our choice, one medium pizza, a salad plate, As I am vegetarian I was desperate to have some of their fantastic salad. We chose soft drinks that had unlimited free refills. Our waitress was absolutely lovely, really bubbly and we joked with her about how one of my friends (who looks quite young) wanted a children's activity pack, and she ended up humoring us and bringing one over, which turned out to be great fun. Cue four 21 year olds fighting over the puzzle pages in Pizza Hut.
The food was served quickly and was fantastic. Despite our fussy ordering, everything appeared correct. Pizza Hut's brand new salad range is amazing. Olives, Hummous, different kinds of lettuce, new pasta salads, cous cous, allsorts of dips, tortilla chips, Greek salad, shredded carrot and beetroot etc etc...It cannot be recommended enough! The waitress offered us a box to take the last remaining slices of pizza home, but my friend, the one who looks really young and is absolutely tiny, well he managed to polish off the last few slices no problem! The waitress also refilled our drinks as soon as she spied them as low, without asking they appeared at our table just as I was about to ask. How is that for service?!
You could also add a desert for £2, but none of us could manage it. In total our bill came to £36 pounds for four people for an absolute feast. We made it up to £40 to tip the best waitress i've ever had at Pizza Hut. We paid separately with both cash and card but were served quickly and without fuss.
**Overall**
It was £10 per head, including drinks and tip for an evening meal of two courses, with fantastic service and yummy food, I cannot fault it!
Summary: Great for people on a budget who want a good family meal
