Advantages: Delicious Pizzas, Neverending Soft Drinks, You Never Leave Hungry
Disadvantages: Terrible Waiting Times, Restaurants Not Big Enough
Before I begin, I would just like to point out that I am NOT Victor Meldrew. A few months ago I decided to go to the local cinema to see The Mummy Returns. It was well past payday and funds were low. I had enough money for the ticket and a small drink. So, after purchasing the ticket and requested from a highly intelligent and mature refreshments assistant (yes, a spotty-faced moron who couldn't get a real job) a small diet Coke. "I'm sorry, we don;t have any small cups. Do you want to buy a medium drink?" was the remark from Young Einstein. I replied as politely as I could and decided to forget the drink and go see the movie. Later that night, I emailed the cinema's head office regarding the matter, explaining that as an experienced customer service person, I would have either offered to underfill a medium cup or offer the medium for the same price as a small. The HO agreed and sent me two complimentary tickets. What has this to do with Pizza Hut I hear you ask? Well, I then took my wife to see Bridget Jones' Diary and rang Pizaa Hut beforehand to see if we could book a table. They don't do that any more apparently, but I was told that there would only be a 15 minute wait. We set off in good time and got to Pizaa Hut to find people queuing outside. Strange 15 minute wait. But we waited, and waited and 15 minutes later were still waiting. I went inside (yes, we were still outside and my wife was freezing) and was told there would be a 40 minute wait! I could believe it (honestly, I'm NOT Victor)! Needless to say I e-mailed my complaint and received a £15 voucher as an apology. Ok, I got a free meal later on, but it spoiled a nice, rare night out for my wife and I. We ended up in KFC. By the way, Pizza Hut closed their other restaurant in Wakefield because they said they only needed one (and a very small one at that).

- 20/09/01 Bridget Jones' Diary was surprisingly good. Renee Zellweger (apologies if spelt wrong) did a fine job as a dowdy (and very frumpy) English girl and some hiarously funny moments. |
