Planet India is an authentic Indian Restaurant situated in Queen Street, near the Centre of Stirling. To tell you the truth, I probably would never of thought to go to this restaurant if someone had not knocked on my door and offered a discount card last year. I agreed to give it a go and I have not looked back. This is a real Indian restaurant. Most of the menu is Indian as is most of the staff. The restaurant offers a wide selection starters. It also offers a variety of Kormas, Baltis,Tikka specialties, Tandoori's, european and vegetarian dishes and lots more. The portions at the restaurant are very generous. On the first visit to the restaurant I could not finish the main course because the starter was so big. (The poor waiter thought there was something wrong!!) On my second visit my husband & I chose not to have lunch that day, so that we would be able to enjoy our dinner. Planet India is excellent value for money. The average price of a starter is about £3.00 and as I have said they are more generous servings. A Main course can range from £6 -£9. The desserts are also very reasonable. (Unfortunately I don't have a price list for them.) One disadvantage is that the restaurant can get very hot, especially in the summer. There is some air conditioning fans but they don't seem to do very much. It can actually be quite unpleasant. I would also be careful when ordering orange juice, I think they keep open cartons under the counter. One time my husband ordered one and it was off. They did change it for another drink though. A Take Away menu is also available. This menu highlights that Planet India can cater for parties (Buffet) if it is for more than 20 people. There is also a 10% discount on prices in the Take Away menu. All things considered, I would thoroughly recommend a visit. Good food at a good price.
