Just the sort of place for a quick, yet quality meal!

== Pomodoro e Basilico, Lincoln == === Type of Restaurant === Pomodoro e Basilico is a plush Italian restaurant in Lincoln, the quick service making it ideal for people on a lunch break. === Location === Located on Guildhall Street in Lincoln, it is one of many restaurants on Guildhall Street - all in old Georgian buildings with high roofs, many used to be banks or post offices. It is two minutes away from the high street and in a building that over the years has changed hands more often Northern Rock. Most recently, for example it was Chillies, a Mexican restaurant. === Exterior === Simply brushed stone, the outside is classy and understated. There is a small sign above the door, but it is all very discreet. === Interior === There is a high ceiling, giving the impression of airiness and space. All of the seats are leather high backed chairs. There are pillars in the middle, and the far end is the bar. Near the window are two or three sofas if you just want a coffee. === Welcome === Upon arrival we were greeted very promptly and shown to a table for two. We were then given some menus, and a drinks menu. === Menu and Price === The offer that had attracted us in the first place was £6.95 for two courses - lunchtime special. Too often with these deals the choice is sparse, but there was plenty of choice here. I chose Mozzarella in Breadcrumbs with a sweet chilli dip, and my girlfriend had the garlic bread. We also ordered our drinks at this point, J20 for her (£2.00) and lemonade for me (£1.55) and within a couple of minutes our drinks were with us, followed a few minutes later by the starters. The portions were more gourmet than wholesome, but the quality was brilliant. Both starters were full of flavour and presented beautifully. Once we had eaten these it was only a few minutes to wait for our starters, Penne Arrabiata for me and Penne Formo al Funghi for her. Both were lovely. For me, many places do arrabiata too spicy, but this was just right. === Quality of Food === Everything was full of flavour, nicely presented and was quality. Not a lot else can be said. === Quality of Service === The service was very good. The lady who served us was friendly, yet not overly so and checked everything was okay just once or twice throughout, some places can be a bit crowding. === Drinks === As stated, the drinks were quite expensive, but this was made up for by the value of the meal. === Toilets === The toilets were clean and smelt fresh - all you could want from a restaurant restroom. === Final Thoughts === I would definitely recommend Pomodoro e Basilico to anybody visiting Lincoln - we were very impressed. === Contact Details === Pomodoro e Basilico, 12 Guildhall Street, Lincoln 01522 511811 http://www.pomodoroebasilico.co.uk Any queries?
