This review is written from the perspective of eating early Friday evening with 4 adults and 2 children.
The restaurant is on the main street and although I work around here we did find it quite difficult to locate. Once we had found it, we were lucky enough to get on street parking but it is quite limited.
The restaurant is situated on the side of the road and from the outside looked cosy and relaxing with the dark modern woodwork and voile curtains- at least the diners were shielded away from prying eyes which is good since its on a main road.
Once inside we gave the gentleman our name and immediately he told us we hadn't booked (we had). More confusion when it transpired that we had been booked for 3 adults and 2 children, and he became quite aggressive shouting that he wouldn't have sufficient tables for other diners. Eventually huffing and puffing he took us to a table which wasn't a great start as I had decided that if his face came any closer to mine while he shouted then I would have to leave! No matter we persevered, once we realised that the extra member of our party wasn't going to stop any other diners eating as there were plenty of spare tables.
Once at our table I got a good look round the restaurant, which had a range of round and rectangular tables set up for different party sizes. There is a large main dining area and a smaller more intimate off shoot which was empty! On the main wall is a large painting (on the wall) of scooters which gave a real modern feel to the place. The chairs are high backed and very comfortable and the white table linen and various flowers and paintings around the room make it much more stylish than I was expecting.
There are several menus including a Happy Hour menu but we were eating from the a la carte.
There are plenty of Italian inspired hot and cold starters. We chose Bruschetta at £3.95 which had plenty of nicely chopped tomatoes and onions and the olive oil was clearly of a good quality as it wasn't greasy. Two of the diners chose Minestrone costing £3.25 which had plenty of vegetables and because we were given bread when we sat down, there was lots of fresh bread and we also had Deep fried potato skins served with garlic dip which was £3.50. these continue to be my favourites and these were especially delicious- skins not chunks and not greasy. All of the dishes were really nicely presented, and we were thinking the chef is quite an artistic person.
There is plenty of choice for main courses including pizzas and pastas, meat and chicken dishes, risotto and sizzlers. As well as the main course choices there are side dishes on offer including olives, spinach and asparagus all around the £2.50 mark.
The children both chose Margarita pizza at £5.95, and two further pizzas were chosen Vegetarian £6.50 and Pepperoni also £6.50. Obviously artistic talents cant be exercised on pizzas but they were all very tasty with lovely thin base and plenty of toppings. Another thing I liked about them is that they weren't too big- too often a pizza just looks soggy and daunting.
We also ardered Pollo Rustica £10.95. which is strips of chicken fillet sautéed with mushrooms, onions and paprika flambéed in brandy, and Pollo Valdostana £11.95 (chicken fillet in breadcrumbs topped with parma ham, tomato and melted buffalo mozzarella cheese). The chicken in both dishes was tender well cooked and because I have to have a taste of everything I decided they were very delicious and had I returned I would have one of these. Again, they were well presented and came with crispy seasonal vegetables.
By this stage we were stuffed and only the children wanted an ice cream which came in tall glasses with long spoons- lots of ice cream sauce and little biscuits.
Open 7 days a week for lunch and evening meals.

I felt I had been harsh when judging who I believe was the manager but talking to someone at work it appears she had a similar experience with him on another night. The restaurant is clean and the décor and food are more than I expected but unfortunately I wont be going again because of the attitude of one member of staff. It's a shame because the other staff were helpful and friendly and the place could be a really good out of town dining experience.
I still award 3 stars but could have been much better
Thanks for reading
