Advantages: Fast service, cheap prices

Disadvantages: Not all branches have a seating area

As there is a Pret a Manger conveniently placed on my walk to work, I make a pit stop there most mornings to get my essential caffeine fix.

Pret is mainly based in London, I have never seen another branch anywhere else and so it generally caters for City workers. I have always found their shops to be airy, clean and well run. The staff are always polite, fast and helpful.

Unlike other coffee shops I have visited (notably Starbucks and Costa) there never seems to be much of a queue in Pret and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes for my coffee. I think this has more to do with efficient staff than the number of customers visiting the shop.

At £1.10 their coffee is a lot cheaper than any of the other London based coffee shops, although they only offer one standard size. I have also found that their coffee contains less froth and more coffee than the other shops. I can highly recommend their hot chocolate (£1.20) and their latte.

I rarely use Pret for food but their breakfast baguette (egg and tomato) is a great hangover cure!
