Advantages: Good Service, good food, clean and relaxing
Disadvantages: A bit tight with the garlic
Having visited most of the Italian chain restaurants that are popping up in every corner of our towns and cities (Pizza Express, Strada, Zizzi etc), a friend and i got emailed a 241 voucher on main meals and decided to try out this chain on a recent trip to Cardiff.
The restaurant, as expected was nicely decorated and comfortable if not a little clinical. The staff however were very friendly and acknowledged us and brought us to a table the moment we went in.
The menu is very extensive with a full range of pizzas, pastas, calzone and salads, and a few risottos and English dishes (such as burger and chips). There is a good vegetarian and pescatarian choice available which makes a nice change from the usual pasta in tomato sauce.
We decided to share a portion of garlic bread for a starter - the service time was very good with out starter being at the table within about 7 minutes, impressive considering it was a busy Saturday lunchtime. The garlic bread was hot and tasty, it was very fresh bread and extremly soft, my only criticism is that there could have been a little more garlic in it, although i am a garlic field so it may have been fine for normal tastes.
My main meal was also very tasty, i ordered Calzone di Mare - which, as the name suggests, is a folded pizza with brocolli, prawns and oak roasted salmon in a cheese sauce. I have to say I was very impressed - the calzone as massive and packed full of salmon and MASSIVE juicy prawns!
I would defintely spend £10 on this dish so the fact that we got it for £5 was a bonus!
I was very impressed with Prezzo overall and will definetly be going back! Good Job!
Summary: better than average chain restaurant
