Advantages: Just what you want for lunch

Disadvantages: cold loo!

Prezzo is one of those Italian Restaurant chains you find in most if not all major cities. Peterborough's is just off Cathedral Square (Cowgate for the locals) in a lovely old building which used to be a pub.

They converted it a few years ago, and it looks great. High ceilings, simple walls, comfy chairs etc etc.

What always surprises me whenever we go in there, is the lack of Italian or English servers! Not that it takes anything away from those that work there, they tend to be friendly and helpful, and so do a good job.

There is a specials board as you go in. The person who will seat you will read it to you, but I find they read it so quick (with their accents) that you're better off reading it yourself first!

The menu is pretty much what you'd expect - italian dishes including pizza, risotto, pasta and salads. They do have none pasta dishes, I think they call them their Specialities, which will want a side dish with it unless it says it comes with potato of some description.

I've eaten in Prezzo, Peterborough many times, and have always enjoyed my meal. I love the pizza, which in my opinion is better than Pizza Express down the road!

At the moment (March 09) they are running a 2for1 voucher offer, which makes a trip there even more appealing (you'll find it on vouchercodes and moneysavingexpert websites)

I do have to make a passing mention to the 'facilities'! You do have to go upstairs (quite narrow and wooden, so sounds like you weight a ton!) although i think there is a disabled one downstairs somewhere. I always find them cold, so beware! The finish is pretty high, they look great, and they have those non-sink washing areas with no-switch taps (have your hand in front jobby).
I think it says a lot about a place by the state of their loos!

Summary - good 'italian' food from a chain, though doesn't come anywhere near the standard set by my trip to Italy a couple of years ago.....

Summary: Get a 2for1 voucher and go try it out
