We stopped for tea and cakes before Evensong on 9/25/13, and after spending 22 days touring England the mocha at Reed's was the best one we had (and that's out of 53 mochas - yes, I'm a mocha addict). So good, I had two of them right then. Thanks Reed's.bob

I thought that the food was very poor and the portions were very small. The staff were very rude and didn't understand English!Wouldn't go back.

When you are in York there is a great variety of places to eat with very different qualities of food and levels of service. It is therefore very pleasing when you find somewhere that has really great food and excellent service. Reeds Tea Rooms are situated about 50 yards from the front entrance to York Minster and is somewhere I can highly recommend. (30-32 High Petergate). The Tea Room is set out in a traditional style and has room for about 30 people. There is a very comprehensive menu with many choices of teas and coffees, hot and cold snacks and a good variety of meals. The whole place is spotlessly clean and the service is very fast, very efficient and very polite. The majority of the snacks are served with a side salad and often when you see this on a menu it means a slice of soggy tomato and a piece of limp lettuce. This was not the case here, the salad was freshly prepared and well laid out. The meals were very tasty, presented well and very good value for money. If you are in York and want somewhere to eat or drink then head for the Minster and find this Tea Room, you will be pleasantly surprised.
