Restaurants in Berkshire in general

O.K ....... reading a recent review about Mya Lacarte in the telegraph made me pick up the phone and book a table. This place is just amazing! Mya Lacarte is a British produce restaurant and the menus change with the seasons. They highlight the importance of seasonal produce and they give their own twist to some classic dishes. Mya Lacarte for me is the BEST RESTAURANT IN READING without a shadow of a doubt, and proved by winning exactly this title in their first year. Apparently they are up for the same award in 2009! Fair play to them. Mya Lacarte is an honest place and the service is second to none. 5 stars!!!! But be warned, you will be hooked after your first visit. Everything in Mya Lacarte will captivate you from the food to the service to the atmosphere. What a great find!!!

What can I say? Good food and unusual - all starters and deserts are one price. Kangaroo was nice as a starter. Drinks, well FORGET IT!! £6 a PINT is really, really taking the mickey! I have been based in Newbury, with work, on and off for several years now, so I've had a chance to try out a few of the restaurants and bars that have sprung up on the back of the Vodaexodus into the town. The Madagascan Gin Palace is, undoubtedly, the most unique, and easily best, restaurant in the whole town. The friendly staff and owners will welcome you into a trendy; two tier eating area, which has the capacity for several large parties as well as the normal tables for two etc. A varied and imaginative menu is displayed along the back wall of the restaurant (in a similar style to a Nandos Peri Peri site).
