What used to be Bozo's Restaurant on Rayne Road, Braintree is now called La Piazza Italian Restaurant. The restaurant interior is little changed from Bozo's which is not necessarily a bad thing - As the building is quite old and retains some nice architectural features such as original oak beams et al. The only area at fault is the decor upstairs leading to the toilets which could do with revamping (and I suppose as the restaurant is fairly new the present owners will upgrade this area in the near future). the restaurant is split into 3 separate dining areas with a small bar upon entrance to the establishment. When you first see the Popular restaurant on Leigh-on-Sea's broadway, you might think it is a typical greasy spoon establishment, but looking at the menu gives a slightly different story. The owners of the restaurant appeart to be Cypriot, but they seem to have surrendered to the locals, and meals are essentially British in character. However, it is still possible to branch out a little.There is still vine leaves as a starter (judged to be pretty good), and moussaka as a main course, but the fare is essentially British.
