On Wednesdays they even do cheaper fish and chips for over 65s It may be a fish and chip shop but it does everything. Burgers are £1.90, you can get all sorts of them. Chicken, Egg, Kingsize, in Batter etc. If you fancy a Doner Kebab they really know how to do them here. Cod is £2.55 but you will find that this is the length of your dinner plate.... more

Harry Ramsden is not the only place to do great fish and chips. Fairford might not be a massive town but the Fairford Fish Bar certainly knows how to cook good fish and chips. It was one of two fish and chip shops in Fairford but at the moment as I write this it is the only one as it put the other fish and chip shop out of business. Gone are the days when fish and chip shops did not open on a Monday because you could not get the fish that day. This fish and chip shop is open on Mondays even if it is only until 8pm. The rest of the week it is open Tuesdays to Saturdays 12 until 1.30 and then 5pm until 9.30 and closed all day on Sunday. It is no good thinking that you can go to the pub in Fairford and come out late and then have fish and chips as you walk home eating them out of the newspaper as they are shut 9.30 This is not a cafe and only has a bench to sit on inside while you are waiting, if you have to wait, for the meal to be ready.
