I went back this Xmas eve 2007 and The owner Julius admitted that she had done it and instead of apologising said that they did that to customers they did not like...Maybe I was lucky only to get tabasco in my food. I will be taking this up with Health and safety, however when I challenged the owner on this he said they did not bother him... Dont complain in there otherwise you may be eating more than you bargained for!! The owner is so arrogant he feels he can treat customers as he wishes... A horrendous place. I went in there in January and one of the waitresses put tabasco in the coffee we had. Premium Review Haven Bar & Restaurant Whetstone (139 words)

Haven Bar & Restaurant is surprisingly good. The combination of food and service is tremendous. Romantic decor that hints of exoticism, soft light, and loungey sofas for the pre-dinner, to be enjoyed with an aperitif from the excellent bar, which boasts a broad range of cocktails. You can have a snack in the lounge space (bar area) if things are going well for you, or give yourself a second choice by moving to a restaurant area. Remember to book well in advance. I saw people queuing to get in Haven. The waiter staff will add to this atmosphere by explaining the menu into a smallest detail and suggesting perfect things for you. All in all this one's a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Restaurants in Greater London in general: Haven Bistro and Bar, Whetstone London N20 (152 words)

Restaurant on the whole good. Newly opened and much anticipated adjoining winebar a complete disappointment based on a most unfortunate experience on our first visit. Has to be said food still good. However, service both incompetent and unhelpful (how does a waitress imagine that a round table measuring no more than two foot in diameter seating a party of four can be expected to accommodate no fewer than eight plates of food when brought simultaneously?). Owner, whilst usually fairly obsequious, went into a rather strange and entirely unnecessary 'Basil Fawlty' routine, becoming extremely aggressive when I politely enquired as to where my guests ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review If you live in North London around Finchley, Barnet. go down ... (517 words)

If you live in the North London around the Barnet/Finchley area, then I suggest taking a walk/bus/unicycle/cab (but not a car cause there is no need) down to whetstone for meal. Whetstone is situated on the Northern line, a few minutes up the hill from Totteridge and Whetstone station. Also on 6 bus routes include night bus(if you dare) it has those toilet cubicles, cash machines and all shops are on the main high road (great north road A1000) It has changed quite a lot in recent years, to become row upon row of restaurants, to such an extent that the council will not allow anymore licenses. Its quite a posh area, famous for being quiet and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Restaurants in Greater London in general: A piece of India in Elm Park (1042 words)

A few months ago, a chap came to the door selling tickets which would give you a B.O.G O F. (buy one get one free) offer at a new Indian Restaurant which was to open in Elm Park. Together with this offer was a voucher giving £30 off the entire bill (drinks included) on one special occasion. The tickets cost £20, so theoretically you would get that back with the one visit. As my family is quite partial to the odd Indian, we purchased! The restaurant, Le Spice, is inconspicuous in location. Situated down the hill and round the corner from Elm Park Station, and away from the main shopping area, it would be easy to miss. But if you live in or near the area, ...  Read the complete review
