Leicester is renowned for its Indian restaurants, and certainly the whople gamut of Asian cuisine is here - from the upmarket, expensive and authentic, to the cheap and cheerful. The Akash Tandoori Restaurant on London Road (three minutes from the train station) is not the best restaurant and takeaway in the cit by far; but it certainly offers a quite stunningly cheap chance to eat as much as you can for a paltry fiver. That's right, a fiver. You just grab a table and ask for the five pound special.
