The Himalaya Indian Restaurant, North Street, Leighton Buzzard. My family and I are regular visitors to this lovely, family run restaurant. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, and the food is delicious and authentic. I have visited many Indian restaurants and have never found one that offers such delicious, faultless food. From the wonderful Saag curries (my favourite) to the richness of a Korma and anything in between, you will never be disappointed... We have an amazing array of restaurants in the surrounding areas, but would not hesitate to choose The Himalaya for an Indian (Bangladeshi) meal. The hard work and dedication of the staff, coupled with a wonderfully wide ranging menu make this our all time favourite restaurant. The Davies family.
Leighton Buzzard isn't the biggest of towns. In fact, it's pretty tiny in comparison to some towns, but despite this, it still offers a huge range of eat-in and takeaway restaurants. Most towns will have chinese restaurants, well Leighton Buzzard has at least 7, all of which are excellent quality food, (as I have eaten in all of them!!), and although the all serve pretty much the same thing with slight variations, a chinese meal in any of Leightons chinese restaurants is always a treat. We also have Indian restaurants. They are not as in abundance as the Chinese, but what there is, is very high quality. I think there are maybe 3 Indian restaurants, and I have only eaten in 1, The Akash, but it is my regular Indian, and I love it! They seem to have everything just right, the right selection of curries, and the right amount of mango chunks in the chutney, everything! They also have air conditioning, which is EXTREMELY handy after wolfing down a steaming hot curry. Leighton Buzzard is also home to possibly the finest Italian restaurant I have ever been in. It is small, cramped, and the food is great, just like Italy itself. In the Italian, they offer all sorts of house special pastas and other dishes, and everything they make there is cooked with finest ingredients, which makes them very tasty, and well worth a visit any time you are in the area. Last but not least, are Leightons extensive range of fast-food restaurants. We have loads of fish and chip restaurants, but one stands above the others, and that is the "North Sea", where you can buy chips with curry sauce for about £1.50, and the sauce is absolutely sublime. Nothing beats it. We have two chicken based fast-food outlets, called "Chicken Treat" and "Wishbones". They both sell practically the same stuff, but the chicken burgers from "Chicken Treat" far outdo that of "Wishbones". Kebabs also have a place in Leighton, with two out
lets primarily selling kebabs, called "Louisiana" and "Kebab Ye". Both offer the same stuff once again, but I have to say, against common believe, that "Kebab Ye" is far better than "Louisiana". Try them out for yourselves. And finally, Leighton Buzzard is now homw to a McDonalds restaurant, and not before it's time. Leighton Buzzardians have been waiting for one for years, and now we have it, business is always booming in there. Whenever I walk in there, there is always a huge queue, but I still highly rate McDonalds. All in all, I would rate the best restaurant in Leighton Buzzard as the little Italian. It really has a great atmosphere, and great food. I must mention the new sandwich bar in Leighton called "Reubens". They make gourmet sandwiches with pretty much anything in them, and I would recommend them to anyone!
