Restaurants in LoughboroughNewest Review: ... No bookings are taken for tables as this is a bistro style a la Alpine style. There are always a few disgruntled but by far the majority are seated and served withing an hour in this highly popular venue. They have recently added accomodation too. It's is a fine old country pub but there is a restaurant too. The wine list is extensive, including a highly competitively priced Cristal, and therein lies a clue to the culture here. The family run pub is 3rd generation inn keepers and knows how to serve a good pint as well as avoid the pit-falls which others discover too late. It is simply my favourite watering hole by far. Perhaps being an... more |

The Basin, is a new restaurant in The Rushes, the lighting is too bright the atmosphere is nil and the staff are incompetant, I wouldn't waste my time or money visiting the restaurant again. I would have given it no stars but to post this review I had to give it one.

When it comes to pubs and eating out your on a slippery slope as most landlords haven't a clue. Imagine my delight therefore when discovering the Wheatsheaf Inn, Woodhouse Eaves. The Manor House, Quorn When I recently visited The Manor House, we sat in the bar area. Despite there only being 3 other tables occupied and the waitress passing our table no service had been offered after 20 minutes. At this point I left. I have written to the owner over two weeks ago and to date not had a reply. Originally a well intentioned restaurant but badly slipping since the opening of a second ... Read the complete review

Restaurents in Loughborough are not that great many many in number. But this place is good for Indian food and Bangladeshi food. A considerably large population of Bangladeshi people live here in Queens Rd and sorrounding areas. They have a tendency to invest and build up restaurents. Cheap labour and innate cooking skill allows them to offer good quality food at better value. I am not to sure about the appropriateness of mentioning the names of the restaurents that I have visited here, but I would definitely recommend one to walk around the town centre here to lok for Indian and Bangladeshi restaurents. They certainly give some difference from the bigger fast food ... Read the complete review

I have recently been to Gino's in Quorn, Leicestershire and it was a rather painful experience. I took my family out for a meal as they had travelled a long distance to attend my wedding that was to be held a couple of days later. We were told Gino's would be the only restaurant in the village that could accommodate a large group at short notice. This is an Italian restaurant which I had visited once before. My first visit left me unimpressed, but I never thought my second visit would be so disastrous. As we were 18 people, the owner suggested to serve a number of specialities instead of ordering a la carte. We put no ... Read the complete review
