Disadvantages: Reassuringly expensive - it keeps the masses away

When it comes to pubs and eating out your on a slippery slope as most landlords haven't a clue. Imagine my delight therefore when discovering the Wheatsheaf Inn, Woodhouse Eaves. No bookings are taken for tables as this is a bistro style a la Alpine style. There are always a few disgruntled but by far the majority are seated and served withing an hour in this highly popular venue. They have recently added accomodation too.

It's is a fine old country pub but there is a restaurant too. The wine list is extensive, including a highly competitively priced Cristal, and therein lies a clue to the culture here. The family run pub is 3rd generation inn keepers and knows how to serve a good pint as well as avoid the pit-falls which others discover too late. It is simply my favourite watering hole by far.

Perhaps being an F1 fan then to discover the likes of Daemon Hill and his father have both been customers impressed me a lot. The gallery on the wall tells a lot about the legacy of this pub.
