Woodman's Cottage: What a waste of space!

I took my partner out for a romantic Valentine's Day meal to to The Woodman's Cottage. I'd never been there before, but it sounded interesting from its review in the local press.
On arrival, we were totally ignored for several minutes until an obviously harrassed waitress showed us to a table, where we waited for over 25 minutes while other customers were being served. I was ready to walk out by then, but my partner was determined to sit it out. In the meantime, two other couples had arrived and were treated to a similar long wait and they appeared to be totally invisible to any passing waiting staff. At no time during our long wait were any of us offered a drink or even a menu! In the end both couples left (Good for them!) but by then our starters had arrived and we carried on, thinking it was just a temporary glitch in the kitchen.
[I watch 'Hell's Kitchen' on TV and that even happens to Gordon Ramsey]

The main course arrived after yet another long wait, with still no apology for the delay and the food was only moderate in quality. If you like cold mushrooms and processed peas it may have been passable, but for what we were paying it was poor! If there was any saving grace, the desserts were OK, but they were obviously bought in and microwaved before serving.

But what really 'put the tin hat on it' was when 'mine hostess' came into the restaurant area and sat down to chat with some regulars, totally ignoring the rest of her clientele by turning her back on everyone.

I was fuming by this time and got up to put on my coat, hoping that this might provoke some response, but incredibly, yet again nobody seemed to care. My partner and I left without having the coffee and mints promised on the menu. Like a fool, I left payment on the empty table, but it's one place I will never visit again.

With many pubs closing around the County, this is one I'd put on my personal hit-list right away.

Summary: Probably the most unwelcoming pub/restaurant in East Anglia.
