We visited Vittorio's last night (19.02.11) as a party of five. We had booked the table a fortnight in advance for 8 o'clock. When we arrived we were asked to sit at the bar in order for the staff to set our table. We ordered drinks and were given menus. After 30 minutes the manager came to take our order for food, other than questioning ... Read the complete review

I took my now wife to Vittorio's in order to propose. She said yes of course. The ambience of the restaurant helped to set the scene for a romantic evening and the food was delicious. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in South Wales. Perfect for a special occasion or just a beautiful evening out. I have been there as part of a large party and as a group we had absolutely no complaints. The food was all well done, and served in good time. The staff are very hospitable and you can tell it's a family run place.

We decided to do something different this New Years Eve with family and go to Vittorios. We wish we hadn't bothered. The set menu left a lot to be desired, very bland and extremely over priced as were the drinks! We were promised music throughout the evening, warmth and a friendly atmosphere. The music started at 10pm after many complaints. The temperature was icy cold, much like the staff's approach. There is a better choice of food and friendlier staff in Wetherspoons. Will not be visiting ever again.

This is a well run Italian family restaurant. The staff are friendly and have been there for a number of years. A good menu with regular specials. Not cheap, but not overpricedAfter a number of visits we have never had a bad meal at Vittorios.

Whilst looking for Vittorio's Telephone number I thought I misread something on the web page (google search) but NO! Someone, in fact two, separate people (apparently but no guarantee), had rather negative comments about the restaurant! Apart from not being able to spell half the words they wrote, and in poor English, made me wonder if ... Read the complete review

Another example of Newport's poor food culture! In April 2003 we visited this restaurant on a Friday night. Then the whole thing went down hill. The menu was typical laminated sort of thing and looked like it hadn't changed for years. I chose Chicken in red wine with shallots (£12) and my partner Fillet steak ... Read the complete review

We picked Ristorante Vittorio out of the phone book with absolutely no information nor even any idea as to its location. It turned out to be a lucky choice. The occasion was our daughter's birthday and we had driven down to South Wales to celebrate with her. She is taking a degree course at the University of Wales, College ... Read the complete review
