We had Sunday Lunch at Russells in August and found the whole experience a total rip off. Firstly, at £10.95 for lunch it was a little pricey but we thought we'd treat ourselves. The meat was very nice and plenty of it, but the vegetables were very limited by mixing peas with sweetcorn and mashed carrotts with swede, obviously if you don't like one of these veg this excluded both to you. Russells of York has two branches in York- Stonegate and Coppergate. Having had our house Christmas meal there last year I found the food and price to be pretty reasonable. They pride themselves in being very traditional - and attempt to be very Yorkshire. While this doesn't really do much for genuine Yorkies, or even English people, foreigners are sure to find the alledged idiosyncracies of English culture quite entertaining. The most important thing to note is that it's a basically a carvery.
