Desserts are very thick, leaning towards the panna cota and tirimasu vein as opposed to sticky toffee pudding or apple pie. Sabatini's is tucked away down a side street on Newcastle quayside and is not immediately noticeable. They usually put a blackboard on the main pedestrian thoroughfare announcing their early bird meals, which are fantastic value. The value might lead many to think this is a basic fare student joint, but it is very high quality food with a lovely traditional restaurant interior. The menu is traditional Italian fare, lots of pizza and pasta, but there is also a fish and meat menu.
