San Pietro.......in our opinion a wonderful experience. Me, my husband and family have been many times and have never been disappointed. The hosts, Piero and Michelle Catalano are always on hand to welcome everyone into their restaurant. The staff, many of which have proudly worked their since the start of the business, have a wide knowledge of the delightful food on offer and wines and cocktails available. We have also eaten their on several Mothering Sundays and attended a couple of their many charity events. I can only assume the reviewer who has rated San Pietro so highly is either employed there, or they have never ventured out of Scunthorpe. When i visited San Pietro, albeit neigh on a year ago, the lasting memory of the restaurant was unsuccessful, pretentious food with a hefty price tag. The menu system was confusing and even though myself and my lunching partner chose to follow set menus which added up to around twenty-five pounds each and had only a drink each, we some how ended up paying in excess of sixty pounds! For those of you who don't know Scunthorpe at all your only experience of it will be as the butt of tv jokes,Robbie Coltraines Cracker character used to say Scunthorpe instead of cheers each time he took a drink.. Anyhow cultural or tourist mecca it may not be but it has at least one thing going for it: The restaraunt San Pietro!
