Advantages: Reasonable prices
Disadvantages: None, the place is quite average
Its located right on the Newcastle Quayside next to the Premier Inn.
Really good place to go for food during the day. Typical pub food and what you will expect in most pubs especially chain pubs i.e. burgers, grills, salads, pasta etc, but the prices are very reasonable and there are usually offers on the food i.e 10% off or two meals for £10. The offers do vary depending on when you go. When you order food it comes quickly and you get served at your table rather than ordering at the bar. The portions are quite large but there are lighter bites on the menu too
On an evening if you go for a drink the place never gets jam packed like some of the bars on the Quayside and is more chilled out and you are definitely likely to get somewhere to sit. Drinks are priced averagely, however you can usually get a bottle of house wine at a lower price than in many places and it works out cheaper to buy a bottle if you are having 2 or 3 glasses rather than buying by the glass.
You won't rave about how brilliant the place is or unique but it's certainly an ok place to go.
Summary: A good place for food and a quiet drink

- 23/01/09 Be careful with the food - I visited a different Slug and Lettuce and 1 of our party found a small slug in her salad. It sounds like a bad joke, but is unfortunately true! |
