Advantages: Live jazz act

Disadvantages: Too loud

I recently went to Smollenskys for a work party. Smollenskys is a upmarket live bar and grill located on the Strand in London. There was 20 of us and so were had to opt for the £35 for 3 courses choice. Once we were all seated we ordered drinks which took over 20 minutes to come. However the starters and main courses were even longer. I appreciate it was a Saturday night but waiting over minutes for drinks, over half an hour for the starters and the same for the mains was taking things a bit too far. I have to say that the portion sizes were very generous, however the food was nothing too special- the menu is atypical of a grill- burgers, steaks etc. There was a live jazz band perfoming which lifted our spirits a bit, however the place was just too loud to even attempt conversation with the person sat next to me. We all left feeling disappointed and a bit fed up having to wait such a long time. I don`t think i will be returning

Summary: Nothing to shout about
