Advantages: good quality and low fat options

Disadvantages: pricey

Starbucks is a fantastic coffee chain in the UK which has come over from the United States; it is a major shop which can be found on pretty much eveyr high street in the UK so no small shop! The premise of Starbucks is that whilst it is a multinational it looks after its coffee producers and each branch sources from specific individuals which get fair returns on their work. Because the menu is locally produced it can mean that it varies across stores howrever the basic coffees are the same. The store has recently had a move towards advertising its lower calorie healthier drinks, in this they have included Light Caramel Frappeccinos which have under 150calories (a massive 300 less than its full fat version!), and various other combinations such as Soy Chai Tea Lattes which you would never think of ordering! I love them because the coffee is of excellent quality, and the shops dont push you out - many a day i have spent in there with a book. Plus the customer service is great. However the prices are quite high which may be worth looking at. In addition, the advantage card is a great idea but it does tie you to the chain and a minimum amount to load is £5.

Summary: Lovely for a relaxed coffee and book session
