Strada in Gunwharf Quays Portsmouth is a delightful restaurant. The menu is generic and well balanced. A good choice of Italian style dishes, well presented but far more importantly delicious. I have yet to try a dish that disappoints. Service is prompt and attentive without being intrusive. Tables are set quite close together so perhaps not for the intimate romantic dinner. The quality of the produce used is of a very high quality. My favorite dishes are the Polenta con Funghi, Grilled polenta with granapadano and sautéed chestnut mushrooms in a mascarpone, garlic, marjoram, porcini & cream sauce, and Bruschetta con Peperonata for starters. Pollo con Funghi (yes I like mushrooms) and the fillet steak for main course. If you ask; the restaurant will serve the steak with the mushroom sauce that accompanies the polenta, a good example of the excellent service. The Pizzas equal those of Pizza Express (no mean feat) and the pasta dishes are correctly cooked and seasoned. I think the free bottle of filtered water is worth mentioning as so many establishments charge now for so called premium bottled water. Overall always a pleasure.
Summary: Very good value
