Good quality Italian chain

Advantages: Good food, good service
Disadvantages: Could do with some plainer dishes to entice the less adventurous
I have put off going to Strada mainly due to the fact that it is slightly more expensive than its competitor Zizzi which I have become ever-so-slightly addicted to. However, armed with a 241 voucher today I headed off with my friend and decided to risk it.
The menu was slightly off-putting if you don't regularly eat at Italian restaurants and is slightly more exotic fare than the usually Italian chain restaurants. I didn't fancy any of the pasta dishes as they were overflowing with blue cheese or mushrooms which I'm not overly keen on. I decided on something entirely different-a butternut squash risotto with pancetta and pine nuts and highly recommend it! They also serve the usual steak, chicken and fish, pizza and salads.
The service was very good, despite the fact that we overstayed our welcome by chatting without buying dessert or coffee!!
The prices of the mains are fairly standard although more expensive than both Zizzi and Ask. There is an automatic service charge added to your bill, but you can ask to have it removed.
I would definitely visit again although purely down to my own fussiness I would have fewer menu choices here than in other Italian restaurants so it would probably always be my second choice.
Summary: I'd go again
