Advantages: Bespoke sandiwches made in front of you, have it how you want!
Disadvantages: A little pricey, would be great if cheaper, after all, it's only a sandwich!
Subway in my opinion is the 'healthier' alternative to the other take-away chain giants such as McDonalds, KFC and Burger King.
The basic structure of a subway restaurant is a large food counter which contains meats, salads, sauces and toppings, a basket of different types of bread baguettes sits next to this, and some friendly staff.
The concept of the restaurant is you go in, ask for the type of baguette you would like (either a 6" (half) or foot long (whole loaf)) your sandwich to be (Hearty Italian is my favourite), they then ask if you want a layer of cheese and for it to be toasted so the cheese melts a little. .
30 seconds later once cooked, they ask what you would like, turkry breast, ham, meatball, chicken, and all sorts.
You can then chose as many toppings as you want, cucumbers, onions, peppers, black pepper, salt, ketchup, mayonaise etcetc.
Now here's the good part.
Every day subway do a 'sub of the day', this is £1.99 for a 6" or £3.98 for a foot long. It is a little more expensive than the usual McDonalds, but you're not getting anywhere near as much crap, and you can see that the staff are hygenic and you get to see them make it in front of you. It's always bespoke too, so you can have it exactly how you like!
The napkins contain all the nutrional info, calories, fat content etc, so the health conciious can always check that out first or check out the website for more information!
It's great for a treat every now and then, they also offer meal deals witha drink and a cookie or some crisps, I usually just stick to the sandwich though :)
Summary: I love Subways, great after a night out or as a treat every now and then
