Advantages: Big portions of fillings
Disadvantages: A tad expensive
Ten years ago, no-one would have dreamt of buying a 'fast-food' sandwich for lunch, but these guys have made an art of it - it's now trendy to buy a sandwich. Quite how they did it I don't know, but fair play to them!
The people at Subway run like a factory assembly line: they know what works and they do it quickly and efficiently. It's expensive for a sandwich, but the quality is consistently high, and the bread and other ingredients are always fresh. They always give you a big portion of each topping - the price is fairly high but you can rest assured you're going to get a whole heap of filling for that,
I first got into subway when they had the reggae reggae sauce sub, and I've not stopped going since. I would like to see the price come down a bit, but I appreciate it's a franchise, and everyone has to make their cut. Sub of the day is £1.99 so, if you like it, you can grab a good bargain there.
They also sell cookies and a range of drinks and crisps, so be prepared to spend around £5 for a meal. Our local branches have around 6 or 7 tables to sit at, but we have a baby in a pram and there's no room for that, so don't expect to eat seated if you've got a lot of luggage.
Summary: The best sandwiches going

- 09/12/08 It is a great place to eat in France if you are veggie as very few lunch places have much without meat or fish. I agree it is always really fresh. |
