Advantages: quick, good alternative
Disadvantages: skimpy
Subway is a pretty good alternative to fast food. I work very close to one, and usually pop over once a week for a sandwich.
When you walk into a subway, you take a look at the menu and see what you want to order. The menu is a little confusing. They never show prices for 6" subs and give you one price for a group of subs. First time ordering, it takes a little bit to find the items you want. After you find what you want, you tell the employee the name and size, and you get to pick what bread you want. They put the meat and cheese on the sub, toast it if you ask them to, and then take you to the veggies and condiments. You tell them what you put on it, they make it, wrap it up, and give it to you. The process is very simple and often very quick.
The only problem I have with subway is that they are very skimpy on everything. They count the pieces of meat, and put very few veggies on it. When I order bell peppers, they put about 3 little pieces on the sub. I can barely taste it.
The best sub in my opinion is "The Feast" It has 5 different meats on it I believe, and is the only sub there that is actually filling. Everytime I go there, that is 99% of the time my choice.
Overall Subway is a good alternative to greasy fast food. If you want a real good sub though, go to a deli.
Summary: Not a bad dinner or lunch
