Advantages: You decide what goes in your sandwich, Fresh bread
Disadvantages: None
Subway has a really good premise, which was founded in the New York deli style. You go to Subway and you can expect to receive a specially created sandwich exactly the way you like it. First you start by deciding what kind of sandwich you want- the board is complete including veggie burgers, meatball sandwichs, hot philly cheesesteak, roast beef, ham, and chicken. Salads are also available (chicken caesar, green salad, etc) and wraps (chicken caesar wrap, mexican wrap, etc). But for your first visit, I'd recommend a regular sandwich. It is a two way street here, so the 'sandwich creators' as they are called, will be asking you what you want every step of the way. First off do you want a 6 inch sandwich or a 12 inch sandwich? Do you want white or wheat bread? Do you want lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, olives, green peppers, mayo, mustard, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper? Do you want cheese? Once that is decided, they will wrap it up. You can order a meal for about 50p more and get a choice of crisps and a refillable soft drink. It is a fantastic sort of factory line which ensures that you will get exactly what you want. The sandwiches are very fresh and the bread is baked fresh daily so you can get a nice hot roll if you are lucky. These are the genuine article- much nicer than a boxed sandwich from M&S or Sainsbury's.

- 13/09/01 Sounds like they've expanded their menu a little, as last time I visited there were no veggie options! |
