Advantages: Good food, lively atmosphere

Disadvantages: None that spring to mind

Now I do have a little insider knowledge into TGI as I worked there many moons ago.

The restaurant is nicely furnished with an American feel to it and the staff all wear braces with their flare (quickly little badges etc).

The staff are always young, friendly and quite hyper - which being quite young myself I quite like but appreciate it could be tedious to the older generations.

The menu itself is pretty good, offering bugers, chicken, pasta, steak, fajitas etc. The average cost of a main between is between £8 - £12 although you pay a little more if having steak.

Not a lot comes out of a packet from memory, all the vegetables and salads are prepared on a daily basis. The only thing I recall being "packet" was their cheesy mash - which is no longer on the menu.

The fries are delicious and actually taste like real fries as opposed to coated powder and they have a special spicy seasoning which you can apply if you wish (and yes, it is spicy!)

They are well known for their Jack Daniels Glaze which is very sweet (and looks a little like cola) and goes well with the chicken dishes.

The drinks I find are slightly expensive but are a good size. The milkshakes are my favourite. The chocolate milkshake is to die for and the oreo milkshake is amazing! They are thick and gloopy and just heaven in a glass!

The Sharing platters are also excellent, costing between £12 and £15.

The food is always quite quick at being cooked and at the table within 20 mins. I have never had any problems with the food and always find it to be cooked to perfection. The only issue I have found is that there is sometimes a little less cheese on their Cheese and Bacon Potato skins for my liking.

I always leave over £5 tip here as I feel the staff are very obliging (and I also know what their basic wage is!).

I think this a good place for younger families and groups over friends but think due to the menu it may not sit so well with the older generations who like a more laid back atmosphere as it is quite a "hustle and bustle" restaurant.

Oh and finally - the cocktails!!! VERY generous sized and a large range - check them out!

Summary: Great for a night with friends - but wouldn't take my parents
