Advantages: Atmosphere, Food, Cocktails
Disadvantages: None
I have been dining at the TGI Fridays branches in London from a young age. I remember many a birthday party held here, where I felt like I was a star or something. Children are given balloons (sometimes even the adults are too if they're lucky)
This is a restaurant that's suitable for both families and young and old alike. The atmosphere inside is that of having a good time and being chilled out. The staff are friendly, with eye catching uniforms that I wouldn't mind having myself.
Inside the decor is what reminds me of an american style diner. There generally is a bar in the centre with tables and dining areas around it.
The bar is a great place even just to have a drink, where the bartender does the whole throwing the shaker around (a bit like in the film Cocktail) which is always fun to watch. The cocktail list is pretty extensive, and this is at a cost but a pretty reasonable one for London.
Offers are available some of the time, so keep an eye out or check the website. Currently I believe at selected restaurants, you can dine at 2 courses of a selected menu for £9.99 and 3 courses for £12.99 (exluding drinks) on Mon-Thurs.
What I love is that you can just go for drinks, or if you wish to dine you can dine and then have drinks afterwards, whereas in a lot of restaurants you just have to eat and then pretty much leave.
The food on the menu is typical american food, Burgers, Ribs, Chicken, Fries, Potato Skins, and it is extremely tasty. There are plenty of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians too.
Desserts are yummy and pretty big, so save room!
So whatever your situation, with a family, children, your friends or a partner, I recommend it as a place to dine. I suggest going on the evening on the weekend (fri or sat) if you're wanting to experience a busy, more party like atmosphere.
Summary: A great place to eat + drink

- 04/08/09 I love TGI Friday's! Great food and service - just a pity the range of beers is a bit limited. |
