Advantages: great decor,nice food

Disadvantages: not cheap

My first ever experience at TGI'S on Sunday. Cannot beleive i have not been before now. Since going to New York a few year ago, i have a niche for the American way of doing things. I love how their diners are set out ect. Did not expect to find that on a roundabout in Sheffield but i did!
we were greeted by a young polite girl who showed us the direction ofthe bar for a drink before we took a table. The bartender was stood in the middle of the bar surrounded by all the liqours, spirits. Again the polite young guy took our drinks order, and placed them all on serviettes. I ordered a large coke as i was driving and was able to have a free refill at anytime in our visit. The decor was very American diner, which absolutely loved! the American football helmets glued to the walls, choppers, the great poster art, made it feel very american. If i go to a Italian restaurant i want to feel like im sat in a little restaurant in Rome, If i go to a American diner i want to fell like im back in New York. An TGI'S really acheived that. If it hadn't have been for the waiters accents and the view of meadowhall shopping centre in the background i could have quite easily drifted off into my memories! The waiter came over to our table, introduced himself by name and that he would be looking after us on that occasion. Not sure if thats a practice the company have or whether we were just lucky to have been served by someone with good manners, but was a nice touch to the visit. All the members of staff were dressed in different sports gear, there were surfers, boxers, footballers. And if what my partner tells me is right (from reading the poster in the gents haha) its something they do all the time, having different themes and dressing up, which is fun for them, the kids and we didn't mind it either. Our friends also tell us the best day to go is a friday, as they have like bar wizards, that do bottle spinning, tricks but that is the busiest day so perhaps try and book in advance! The prices were not cheap. But most items on the menu were grills, steaks. But there were cheaper options. The prices were typical of those from a global franchise. (however if you go from mon-thurs you can get 2 courses for £9.99) which is great value as not many meals came under £10 mark, but will be from a selected menu

Summary: great fun day/night out for all ages
