Thai GardenNewest Review: ... far more of a cheap Chinese takeaway variety than Thai. we ordered two main dishes, I ordered king prawns in garlic and ginger and my partner ordered a spicy fish dish, I couldn't eat either and he was so hungry he ate both I just had the noodles (which were delicious actually!) and the vegetable side dish and a little rice. The pawn dish was like eating nappies cooked in omelets and the ... more |

We stopped by to get a takeaway as our usual Chinese was closed. I am so glad we did. The food was amazing, cooked with fresh ingredients, it was without doubt the best dish of it's type I have had for a long time. The staff were polite and service was very quick. Will be going back this weekend with the whole family. Excellent!

This is by far the worst restaurant to serve malaysian food that I have come across in my whole life. We ordered rendang, nasi goreng and mee goreng which were far more than disappointing, it's completely tasteless, cold, pathetic and pricy. I would definately not recommend this restaurant for anyone who wanted a taste of malaysian food.

Unfortunately our oil fired Aga stopped working last night and it is our only way of cooking, so after some deliberation we decided to eat out. After reading reviews regarding 'The Thai Garden' in Rothwell, we went last night, 13th August 2008... it was truly disappointing! And definitely not what I would call "Thai food" not so much as a green of red curry in sight. the food was very average and far more of a cheap Chinese takeaway variety than Thai. we ordered two main dishes, I ordered king prawns in garlic and ginger and my partner ordered a spicy fish dish, I couldn't eat either and he was so hungry he ate both I just had the noodles (which were delicious ... I love Thai food but it’s not the easiest cuisine to track down outside of the big cities and tends to be ridiculously expensive if it’s any good. The nearest good restaurant to us which offers good Thai food is the Thai Garden in Rothwell. My husband and I have been many times and I’ve also taken business guests there – especially ones from India, Sri Lanka and China who like things a little less ‘bland’ than your average hotel food. Where is it? ********** Rothwell is a small historic market town in Northamptonshire. You can find it easily – it’s just off the A14 about half way between Market Harborough and Kettering. ‘At last’ you may be thinking ... Read the complete review

Have been to the Thai Garden, Rothwell several times in the past few years and have not been disappointed. Has always been more expensive than most but the food and the service was always good. Visited again recently and was very surprised at the reply when we asked for clean chop sticks (because my friend had accidently dropped hers on the floor) and the waiter said no, they hadn't got any more. I had to insist that he brought another set and we were presented with the sort that they give to children. We also had insufficient pancakes to eat our crispy duck with and it was obvious that we were making a nuisance of ourselves for asking for more. In ... Read the complete review
