The Barista's (Chester)
Advantages: Food! Service!
My sister and I first came across The Barrista Café a couple of months back when we were out shopping in Chester. We were not very familiar with Chester and so weren't sure where the best places to eat were. As we were spent out after all the shopping, we were looking for somewhere 'cheap' and 'cheerful'. We came across The Barrista Café and decided to go in.
The Barista is a family run coffee shop in the centre of Chester. They serve a range of coffees, teas, soups, Panini's and jacket potatoes. They also have a juice bar. They are open seven days a week.
As we walked into the coffee shop we were greeted by the owners which I thought was nice and friendly and polite. They told us to take a seat. We had to walk past the delicious display of tempting cakes etc in order to get to the seating area.
We just wanted something simple and so we asked for cheese Panini's. This wasn't on the menu (they had cheese and other ingredients; I can't remember what exactly, maybe cheese and onion or cheese and tomato) although they were happy to give us what we wanted.
When the Panini's arrived, they were plain on their own; no salad or garnish etc. I didn't really mind though and I think that is the reason why they were so cheap; but I didn't mind at all. Obviously if you like a bit of salad with your Panini's then you may be disappointed. The paninis were bursting with filling and were lovely and hot. Very tasty indeed. The panni's cost around £2.60 each which I thought was good.
We then decided to have hot chocolate and a chocolate brownie each which we had seen in the display fridge. I can honestly say I have never ever tasted such a delicious hot chocolate; it was very unique and very very chocolatey. The chocolate brownie on the other hand was also the nicest chocolate brownie I have ever tasted; the hot hot chocolate and the cold (straight out of the fridge) brownie complimented each other very very nicely. I think it cost around £7 or £8 for 2 hot chocolates and 2 brownies (a massive size) but it was oh so worth it.
We found the service to be good; very friendly and polite.
The coffee shop has a nice relaxing feel to it and from what I could say different types of people stop here; from shoppers to workers in their lunch hours.
So all in all I would definitely recommend this place.
Thanks for reading!
